Rachel Meyer Gallagher was set to appear on the cover of a Working@Duke issue that never printed.
It was March 2020, just as the pandemic changed daily life for everyone. At the time, Rachel was navigating anxiety, career pressure and major life transitions.
Six years later, much of her life looks different.
She’s gotten married, welcomed two daughters, bought a home and stepped into a leadership role at Duke Divinity School. Through every chapter, one priority has remained the same: caring for her mental health.
Now, Rachel is reflecting on that season of uncertainty and sharing why open conversations about mental health still matter.
Her story is part of Working@Duke’s 20th anniversary series, which revisits meaningful moments, memories and people who have shaped our community over the past two decades.
