🌍 Reimagining the future of development through research, collaboration, and innovation.
The 2026 Science in Development workshop brought together global leaders in meta-science and research capacity strengthening to explore how the development community can move forward amid shifting landscapes in foreign aid and research funding.
AAP was proud to be part of this important conversation, with Dr. Amy Jamison contributing alongside partners from CEGA, The Mawazo Institute, DIV Fund, and the Institute for Progress.
Together, participants explored new pathways for inclusive, sustainable, and locally driven research ecosystems that strengthen global development outcomes.

Michigan State University along with Candace Keller, Associate Professor of African Art and Visual Culture in the Department of Art | Art History | Design, partnered with Ghana's Mmofra Foundation to preserve the Willis Bell Photographic Archive. This archive is one of the most complete visual records of post-independence Ghana. More than 40,000 photographs documenting Ghana's first decades after independence have been restored, digitized, and returned to public view.

The Alliance for African Partnership (AAP) Africa Office today hosted a delegation from the University of Bergen’s Division of Research and Innovation, including Kristin Svartveit, Vivil Valvik Haraldsen, and Emmanuel Ovon Babatunde.
The visit, facilitated by Prof. Sylvia Tamusuza and Dr. Ronald Semwalo (Makerere University Coordinator for Bergen University), focused on advancing collaboration and research excellence through international partnerships.
