Thank you to Cecillia Wang, National Legal Director of the ACLU, for kicking off our Leaders in Law series with such a powerful conversation. Her insights on arguing the recent birthright citizenship case, and what it means for how we understand the Constitution today, gave our students and community a lot to think about. Thank you as well to everyone who joined us and helped give Cecillia a warm welcome to campus. We’re looking forward to the next conversation in the series this fall with NYU’s Richard Pildes!

MSU Law alumnus Ryan J. Clarkson ('05) and Shireen M. Clarkson of Clarkson Law Firm, P.C. have given $200,000 to launch the College of Law's new Leaders in Law series, kicking off today with Cecillia Wang. The series will bring four prominent legal thinkers to campus this academic year to explore constitutional democracy, civil rights, election law, and the rule of law.

"I hope a student walks into one of these events thinking about law school primarily as a path to a job," Clarkson said, "and walks out thinking about the kind of lawyer and leader they want to become."

Join us tonight at 5:30 for Cecillia Wang's talk, live streamed here: https://www.youtube.com/live/Xbszn1LTop4?si=xcYQVFapC_QSb0a3
