Daria G. Lindquist (Class of 2026), a 2002 intercountry adoptee from Siberia, has turned her personal history into a purpose-driven legal career at MSU College of Law.

After reconnecting with her birth family in Russia, she joined the Talsky Center, where she advocates for international children’s rights. As a published scholar, she now focuses on reforming adoption laws and child protection systems to support vulnerable families around the world.

A standout moment from this past semester 👏

At the John J. Gibbons Criminal Procedure Moot Court Competition, 3L Rory James Spence, alongside 2Ls Madelyn Heisler and Jacklyn Knapp, advanced to the semifinals (top 4 of 40 teams) and earned Best Respondent Brief.

Another strong showing from one of the nation’s top moot court programs—and a great way to cap off a 3L career with graduation just around the corner.

As Rory shared, “The chance to compete is a gift most never receive. Success is sweet, but the true blessing is stepping into the arena in the first place.”
