Congratulations to the recent Briggs graduates who received the MSU Board of Trustees' Award! While LBC represents 4-5% of MSU's graduating class, students made up 15% of awardees – 48 out of 320 now-graduated seniors.

These awardees were acknowledged during the spring commencement ceremony and received a special cord as part of their academic regalia.

This is a weekend of excitement for LBC students at all stages of their student journeys.

May 1 is College Decision Day, the deadline for graduating high school seniors nationwide to make their enrollment deposits to colleges and universities.

May 1 is the last day of LBC finals for the spring semester.

May 3, 358 graduating Briggsies will be recognized at the commencement ceremony. And we're honored that LBC alumni will join us in the celebration.

Once a Briggsie, always a Briggsie.

Congratulations to Dr. Isaac Record, LBC teaching professor in the Science and Society faculty group, for two recent recognitions.

Record was MSU's sole nominee for the 2026 Distinguished Professor of the Year Award from the Michigan Association of State Universities, and celebrated in April with Associate Dean for Research and Faculty Affairs, Ryan Sweeder.

Earlier in the year, Dr. Record was presented with an honorable mention for the American Philosophical Association's Oxford University Press Teaching with Technology Prize. Record was recognized for his use of art studio and maker space technologies in his Critical Making to Solve Wicked Problems class. Constructing physical prototypes invites students to engage with challenging conceptual and practical problems in novel ways, creating space for insight, reflection, and fun.

On Earth Day, Briggsies learned about Sanford Natural Area, spent time picking up garbage around and within Sanford, and captured some creative photos along the way.

Special thanks to Alan Prather, professor of plant biology and director of the MSU Beal Botanical Garden, for the information and guidance through Sanford.

Some fur love for you this finals week. The newest Zeke is the goodest girl.

Cindy Lou recently made her debut as Zeke V. She's the first female Zeke the Wonderdog and spent seven years training alongside Zeke IV.

We think she's pretty perfect.
