The 2026 football season kicks off today with the Spartans facing the Rockets. That means the nation's most recognized mascot, will be hyping up the crowd.

Did you know that Briggs alum John Morrison served as Sparty for 3.5 years and was the first-ever Sparty to earn a 4.0 GPA? He's in med school now.

Careers in the sciences are vast and varied and yet, we very rarely know what our options are because we only see so many of them in everyday life.

Build community with other Briggsies who are interested in careers outside of medicine, and those who are exploring their options, while learning about some of the exciting careers that a science education can provide you with.

First-year LBC students who are interested in careers outside of medicine, join our LBC Career Team for "Beyond the White Coat" on Thursday, September 10, from 7-8 p.m. in Holmes Hall, Room C-106.

First-year Briggsies: You're invited to a workshop by the LBC Career Team! "Year One to M1: Tips for preparing for the pre-health track" will take place on Wednesday, September 9, from 7-8 p.m., in the McDonel Hall Kiva.

This workshop is geared towards Briggsies just beginning their journey to exploring and pursuing a career in medicine.

Learn more about what types of experiences help to contribute to a well-rounded med school application and where to find them.

Briggsies, are you looking for a paid research position?

LBC faculty have three projects this fall that are seeking LBC student research assistants. Two are focused on STEM education, and one is focused on Indigenous knowledge of ecology. In all cases, the LBC student research assistants will conduct qualitative research and data analysis.

Read the Research Opportunities Microsoft Sway (emailed and linked below) for LBC project info, as well as funding opportunities if you're working with an MSU faculty member on research.
