We study the biology and management of insects in berry crops. Members of our lab are currently working on pest phenology, biological control, selective insecticide evaluations, and crop pollination all with insects found in berry crops. Our extension program provides growers with practical information to make decisions about insect management, to improve their productivity, profit, and environmental safety.

Heading into August and today the lab was buzzing. Graduate student Ronnie Miller (R) was setting up some bumble bee experiments helped by our other new grad student, Lauren Goldstein (L), while summer research technician Sierra Avendt and I provided bee wrangling support. Graduate student Jenna Walters was processing her samples from spring pollination trials, while lab technicians Jackie Perkins and Andrew Jones cranked through more blueberry samples. That's Fletcher Robbins in the back processing SWD samples from blueberry farms. Science!!
