Kinesiology Graduate Student Organization The Kinesiology Graduate Student Organization (KGSO) is a collection of graduate students in Michigan State University’s department of Kinesiology.

We are a student-run organization designed to give students the opportunity to participate in their own personal and professional development.

PRACTICUM ALERT!! Huuuuuge shout out to our amazing doctoral students who got to share what they have been working on with the rest of the department! This semester we had Abigail Faltus from Exercise Physiology, Arjun Parmar from Athletic Injury and Rehabilitation, Venkatesh Kalepu from Motor Control, and Kenan Sayers from the Psychosocial concentration. Congratulations you four, you all did an amazing job!!!!! Go green, go white, go kinesiology!

Huuuuuuuuuuge shoutout to three amazing doctoral students who participated in KIN 995: Research Practicum this semester! Presenting their practicum findings were Reid Davis, Mahya Ardestani, and Marcelo Cabral! All three students did an exceptional job presenting their research, it was very fun to see some fellow students present and share some research they are passionate about!

Another science alert highlighting doctoral students Tony Harris, Luis Torres-Villela, and Katherine Curtis, as well as Dr.Karin Pfeiffer for their outstanding presentations at this years Midwest ACSM! They presented on the paternal influence of physical activity, association between motor competence and body composition, and the reliability and validity of a heart rate monitor component of a sports bra! A great group of students and their advisor of the Kids At Play (KAP) Lab!

🔬🥼SCIENCE ALERT!!!!! Huge shout out to all of those who attended and presented the annual Midwest American College of Sports Medicine conference! Even larger shout out to Arjun Parmar, Amy Boettcher, and Jagger Wraalstad, among others for winning conference awards. One last major shout out to the undergraduate quiz bowl team who earned a very close second place! A strong showing by MSU students at this conference to kick off our homecoming weekend and fall break! I hope everyone has a fun, safe weekend!

TOMORROW AT 4:00pm!!!!!!! Come out and support our beloved MSU Spartans as they take on the dreaded Ohio State Buckeyes (booooooooo👎). Come out to enjoy the beautiful evening, socialize with your fellow grad students, and have a great time! This event is open to ALL GRAD STUDENTS, not just PhD students. And as always, any and all friends of KIN are more than welcome! It will be a great day and I look forward to seeing you tomorrow!!

No better way to start the school year! On Thursday Dr. Nick Myers and Doc student yon won gold in the first annual kinesiology co****le tournament at the welcome picnic and on Friday the first tailgate of the season went off with a bang! Do you love pickleball?! Do you love puppies?! If you answered yes to either of these questions, be sure to register for the KGSO Pickleball for Puppies tournament! Event details below!

🗓️ THIS Saturday, April 29th

⏰ 2 PM

📍MSU courts on Wilson Road

💲 $10 per person or $20 per team to play! All proceeds will be donated to the Capital Area Humane Society! Spectators are welcome but we ask that you please consider supporting the event with a $5 donation or by bringing a dog/cat toy to be donated!
