Michigan State University Rodeo

The MSU Rodeo Club is a student run organization whose members all share an interest in the sport of Rodeo.

We put on an annual Rodeo each February called the Spartan Stampede, and are open to all students who are interested in joining! The Rodeo Club has meetings every other Tuesday at Anthony Hall on the MSU Campus. We welcome any student with an interest in the sport, even if you are not able to compete. To compete, a student must first become a member of the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association (NIRA). To find out more about competing on the MSU Rodeo Team, see the Rodeo Team web page.

The semester is officially over, but Senior Sundays are not! It’s time to shout out Abby Cline!

Abby is graduating with a bachelors in Environmental Economics and Management. She plans to continue working for Keystone Cooperative after graduation, where she will be crop scouting for row crops, and working in agricultural sales. Congratulations Abby!

Last weekend, a few club members had the opportunity to help out with the Little Britches Rodeo in Ovid! They helped run the timers, set poles and barrels, and run the arena gates. It was a great chance to lend a helping hand while also learning more about the behind the scenes operations of a rodeo!🤠💚

We had so much fun sharing rodeo with Lansing's youth at the Todd Martin Youth Leadership event! The kids learned about the rodeo events, were taught how to rope, and ran a relay race on a clover-leaf barrel pattern!🤠 They had so much fun, and we had so much fun teaching them. Our hearts are full🫶

Happy Sunday everyone! It’s time to shout out another senior, so today’s senior is Ashley Shaw!

Ashley is graduating from MSU with an Agricultural Business Management degree, with a minor in Agronomy. After graduation, she plans to stay in Michigan and continue to use her knowledge to better the agricultural industry. Congratulations Ashley!

The Michigan State University Rodeo Club was honored to be awarded the #1 Student Organization Achievement Award this past weekend at the Student Leadership Excellence Awards ceremony!🎉 The club was recognized for their exceptional professionalism, teamwork, leadership and achievements these past few years.

We could not have achieved this without the help of our wonderful club members, advisors, rodeo stock contractor staff, and everyone who has helped us along the way. THANK YOU!

We would like to give a huge congratulations to Cacey Hyde for achieving the Outstanding Community Service Award at the Senior, Staff, and Faculty Awards Ceremony!🎉

Cacey served as our Miss Michigan State Rodeo Queen for the 2025 year, where she organized outreach opportunities like reading to elementary students, judging and assisting at horse shows, and most importantly, representing the MSU Rodeo Club and Spartan Stampede with grace and humility! Congratulations and thank you Cacey!💚
