Call for Volunteers!
Hello UCEA students and faculty,
The UCEA Graduate Student Council (GSC) would like to extend an invitation to graduate students and faculty who have attended the UCEA Convention to serve in our inaugural UCEA Ambassadors initiative during the 2015 UCEA Convention in San Diego.
Our goal is to make the Convention an even more welcoming place for newcomers! We know there are many of you who have gone out of your way to have us, new attendees to UCEA feel at home. In this way, we would like to invite you to wear our UCEA Ambassador ribbon and help us make UCEA a place for fellowship and learning for others. As a returning UCEA member, students and faculty, you will be tasked to go about your business, while you:
Offer a welcoming smile to students and faculty moving between sessions;
Greet attendees before and at the end of sessions you attend;
Assist us to direct "lost" attendees to appropriate locations;
Recommend sessions aimed for graduate students or faculty-tenure;
Share your past experiences at UCEA, especially the Dos and Don’ts of attending a convention;
Invite someone new to the Convention to join you for a coffee;
Be purposeful in handing out your business card;
Leave the convention with a couple of new people’s contact information.
UCEA is an organization committed to providing the learning experiences, professional knowledge, and research that scholars of educational leadership need. However, only TOGETHER, are we able to shape the future of our profession. By being an Ambassador, we are fostering an opportunity to bring cohesiveness to a space that can be daunting and overwhelming, when it should be one for growth and collegiality.
