Tonight on his 2nd DMA recital, Jonah Weller premiered a wonderful new piece by Johnny Danziger. The piece was written for Jonah as a memorial tribute to those lost in the Oxford HS shooting 3 years ago with its major focus being on how the community came together in response. Jonah’s beautiful performance was both intense and soulful. Johnny’s piece “Piercing Silence” is sure to become a major new work in the bass trombone repertoire. Congratulations to both of these outstanding musicians! ♥️♥️
