Michigan State University School of Criminal Justice Undergrad Advising The School of Criminal Justice provides academic & career guidance to all CJ students. Students are encouraged to visit an Academic Advisor once per semester.

Students may visit the Career Counselor at any time to discuss careers & internships. Stop in to see one of your Academic Advisors and the Career Counselor at least once per semester. Appointments can be scheduled at msu.campus.eab.com. Get advice on course selection, career planning, internships, and more!

This Sunday, April 2nd ACJA will be having their last general meeting of the semester. Conservation Officer Todd Thorn from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources will be the guest speaker. If you enjoy the outdoors, then this is a career path you will definitely want to consider. The meeting will start at 3 pm, please come dressed business casual (no sweats or jeans) and arrive promptly.

If you plan on attending the Demmer Center Outing on Sunday, April 23rd, please make sure you have your $25 turned in by Monday, April 10th. You can turn it in this weekend at the meeting or to our faculty advisor Meghan Rohen in Baker Hall.

NABCJ will be hosting a Mass Incarceration, and Wrongful Convictions Panel March 29th in the Mosaic Multipurpose room, located on the 2nd floor of the MSU Union starting at 5:30pm. Members of the panel will include Nicholas Buckingham, who is a returning citizen, and now a Prison Reform Activist. Thomas Hamilton, also a returning citizen, and an Entrepreneur, and lastly, Charles Bell, who is a Spartan as well as a Sociology PhD candidate, and criminal justice scholar. So please come out and join the discussion. You won't want to miss! Refreshments will be provided.

NABCJ ANNOUNCEMENT ---

Due to the time conflicts between our general meeting, and the Criminal Justice Fair, we have decided to postpone our meeting tonight. It is now rescheduled for 6pm on February 22, 2017 (next Wednesday). The meeting will still be located in the Multicultural Unity Center on the 2nd floor of the MSU Union.

Criminal Justice Career Fair is taking place on Wednesday, February 15 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm in the Kellogg Hotel & Conference Center (Big Ten rooms A, B, & C)!

- You do not need to register to attend, but please be on time!
- All CJ students should attend this event - it's only once/year
- Professional attire is STRONGLY recommended/expected
- Bring resume & research agencies ahead of time. Plan ahead.

Michigan State University's Learning Resource Center is offering Peer Assisted Study Sessions (PASS) for MTH 103, 124, and 132. These sessions will allow students to review content, ask questions, discuss issues, and employ effective study strategies!

Space is limited, so if you are interested, reserve your seat ASAP!

In addition to PASS, the LRC will continue to offer tutoring its usual services (tutoring, test-taking help, time-management, study skills, etc).

The CJ advising team wanted to share a few reminders as the first week of classes come to an end:

- Barb Kolar & Meghan Rohen will be holding walk-in hours in rooms 126 & 128 Baker Hall through Jan 20. Remember, NO walk-in hours will be held on MLK Day. Appointments are NOT being posted online currently.

- Walk-in hours are from 10am to noon & 2pm to 4pm.

- Online open add period ends at 8pm tomorrow, Friday Jan 13. Please make sure your schedule is set by then.

- Starting Jan 23, please visit msu.campus.eab.com to schedule advising appointments.
