Hi everyone! I’m Sarah, the Facebook chair for the Beta Delta chapter! It’s been a while since the last update on MSU Gamma Phi Beta activities so here’s a 2023 spring semester recap!

In January, new leadership positions were filled and we officially welcomed the fall 2022 pledge class as initiated members! In regards to our philanthropy, our philanthropy chair woman Kendall Boelman
organized a fundraiser for Girls on the Run with Chipotle.

In February, our chapter prepared to welcome the spring pledge class of 2023 through our continuous open bidding process. Our Membership Vice President, Avery Hewitt, and the COB chair women, Rachel Bologna, organized extremely successful recruitment events and welcomed 21 new members!

As you may know, our campus faced an unthinkable tragedy on the 13th of February. We lost 3 beloved students and our campus is forever changed because of what we witnessed. Our chapter came together during this period of grieving and hosted chapter dinners at the house and chapter meetings/sisterhoods to support one another. We quickly pivoted our philanthropic efforts to supporting the Spartan Strong fund, a fund to help pay for affected students medical bills, grief counseling, and the overall care of the students on campus.

We resumed our typical chapter activities in March after the conclusion of spring break! Our PACE/Fidelity workshop for the month focused on building strong relationships with our sisters. Alumni came together for our chapter this month to provide a wonderful dinner in support of our sisters and the entire Gamma Phi Beta community. Shout out to Natalie Lennartsson for organizing such a fantastic event! We also had our date party! Thanks to our internal social chair, Katlyn Saloutos, it was a huge success! Our spring pledge class received their bigs this month and started to bond with the sisterhood even more! Next, we hosted our chapter’s formal in Detroit which was another huge success courtesy of Katlyn Saloutos. Our chapter also came together in support of the MSU baseball team during one of their home games vs Purdue.

April at MSU marks Greek life’s ‘Greek week’! This a month long initiative where all of the Panhellenic sororities and fraternities compete to fundraise as much as they can for their chapter’s philanthropy. The Beta Delta chapter supported the Spartan Strong Fund for this years greek week. Sisters participated by posting fundraising pages, donating blood, planting trees, and competing in the final celebratory dance competition. Our greek week chairs, Delaney Higgins and Chelsea Rosenberg, facilitated all the events for our chapter and deserve a massive thank you! In the midst of all the Greek week events, real wellness chair, Julia Deprez, organized an entire weeks worth of fitness events for our chapter during real wellness week.

We also celebrated our second annual Gala at the end of the semester! We hosted the family’s of our sisters for a day of celebration for the 2022-2023 school year. Thank you Katie Kaberle for organizing an amazing event! To close out the month, our sisterhood chair, Amanda Wellhausen, organized our final sisterhood, ‘GPhi Palooza’, where we danced, played yard games, and hung out with our sisters.

In May, we said goodbye to our seniors and the Michigan State campus for move out for the summer. We are relaxing during our time off but remain so excited for what the new year will bring!

I’m excited to announce that our Gphi parents tailgate will be hosted on November 4th of this year so mark your calendars!

Love,
Gphi

More parents’ weekend information!! Before I list all of the details, I want to give a huge shoutout to Mallory Wellhausen for organizing this super fun day and giving us the chance to show you a look into our lives! Parents’ Weekend will officially start at the Gamma Phi Beta house at 12pm (258 Michigan Avenue). There is not a lot of parking at the house, so I recommend planning ahead to find somewhere else to leave your cars! Families will be able to walk around the house, take some pictures, and enjoy delicious sandwiches and lemonade. Please feel free to bring lawnchairs/seating with you as there is not a lot at the house! At 1pm we will be walking next door for a tailgate with Sigma Pi, who will also have their families there! Some girls have had some confusion so I just want to clarify that all are welcome at the fraternity tailgate - even boyfriends and brothers! We cannot wait to see everyone!

Happy first week of in-person classes! With things on campus finally returning to normal, we’ve already started looking ahead to our philanthropy - Girls on the Run. One of our amazing sisters made the following posters for our first fundraiser on February 4!

Since our Fall ‘21 semester has recently come to an end, below are photos of events we were able to hold in person this year 🌟💗 We had an extremely successful hybrid (half online & half in person) recruitment to start the semester off! An amazing sisterhood retreat took place at the Lansing Lugnuts baseball stadium. An extreme amount of planning went into our annual Gphi Joe philanthropy event, where we partner with many clubs and organizations on campus for a fun filled day competing in sporting events. Gamma Phi was able to raise over $6,000 for Girls on the Run because of this. We held an exciting big little reveal, barn dance, semi formal, and lastly a Christmas party at the Gamma Phi Beta house. We are so very thankful to have had these memories with our lovely sisters this semester. 🤩💖

Happy Founders Day 💗

Happy Founders Day 💗

Happy Founders Day, sisters! Our Founders were trail blazers in the truest sense – innovators of their time. Helen M. Dodge, Frances E. Haven, E. Adeline Curtis and Mary A. Bingham were pioneers who had a vision to create a welcoming and supportive haven for women in higher education. And that pioneering spirit still lives within all Gamma Phi Betas today. We continue to be leaders. To be influencers. And to be agents of change.

Hi everyone!
We are so excited to be hosting our Parents Tailgate tomorrow, October 2nd! Here are a few important things to know before coming!

1 . The parents tailgate at the house will be begin at 2:30pm and end around 4:30pm. There will be food and beverages provided, catering is by Chick Fil A and Jimmy John’s as well as treats from MSU Bakers! There will be a fun balloon arch and our lovely photography chair Abbey Raymond will be taking pictures of everyone!

2. There is no parking available at the Gamma Phi Beta House, so please come prepared to park around campus and walk to the house! There are plenty of streets close to the house that allow free parking during the day!

3. By FMC guidelines, it is mandated that while in the house you must be wearing your mask regardless of your vaccination status, unless you are actively eating or drinking. Please follow this rule, its important to us that we are keeping our sisters living in the house healthy!

We are so excited to spend the day with you all tomorrow and open our house doors to everyone!
