Today, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® Delta Delta Omega Chapter and Pearls of Power Foundation, Incorporated® proudly awarded $10,000 in scholarships to outstanding students throughout St. Clair County, Illinois, during our 2026 Scholarship Program, "Reclaiming Knowledge, Empowering Scholars, Inspiring Change."

It was the first of June, and DDO definitely, “Fed the Movement!”

This week, we are Wearing Pink, Spending Green, and Buying Black by intentionally spending with Black-owned restaurants, cafes, bakeries, food trucks, and beverage brands.

Our collective goal is $8 million this month, and it starts with just $19.08. That’s one delicious meal, one specialty coffee, or one sweet treat. Let’s help “Build Our Economic Wealth,” one bite (or sip!) at a time.

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated ® Delta Delta Omega Chapter extends sincere congratulations to the National Council of Negro Women, Ethele Scott Section, on achieving 50 years of dedicated service, exemplary leadership, and profound impact.

We also celebrate our esteemed Chapter members who were honored and recognized by this extraordinary organization, originally founded by Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune. For five decades, this section has consistently uplifted communities, empowered women, and upheld a legacy of excellence.

The collaborative support among women invariably leads to remarkable achievements. We anticipate another 50 years of continued positive influence.
