Michelle Lavaughn Robinson Obama was the First Lady of the United States. She attended Whitney Young high school, Princeton University, & Harvard law school, where she obtained a law license. She worked at Sidley Austin LLP law firm, where she met her husband, former President Barack Obama. She later served as an assistant to the mayor of Chicago. As the First African-American First Lady, Obama and Michelle were an advocate for public service & education reform, as well as women, minority, & LGBTQ rights for 8 years. She’s known for her famous quote at the Democratic National Convention in 2016, "When they go low, we go high!”

Meet the senator of the month for the month of January‼️ Leila Bouchekouk is a sophomore majoring in Chemistry and Spanish. She currently serves as a member of the student affairs committee. She is an exceptional senator of the Student Senate, going above and beyond her senator duties. She is always willing to help and possesses great leadership skills. Leila is not afraid to ask questions or voice her concerns. Always putting forth her best effort to help out her fellow senators‼️ Leila Bouchekouk

EMPOWERMENT DAY. Good evening ESU students and community, tomorrow is Empowerment Day. Join us on our walk against domestic violence! The empowerment walk begins at 6:00pm. Don't forget to wear purple tomorrow, October 17!!
