📍 Representing at BMES in Orlando! 🌴🔬

Sydney Regehly presented a poster at this year's Biomedical Engineering Society Annual Meeting (BMES) highlighting work completed during Summer 2025 in Prof. Ryan Rosario’s lab. Her work focused on quantifying the mechanical properties of the patellar tendon. The goal is to develop models of ligament and tendon damage that can better predict when these tissues will fail, paving the way for better prevention.

Way to go Sydney! 🧬✨

It's , and we're highlighting some of our engineers!

Meet Maurico Hernandez '27, who organized the 2025 Society of Professional Hispanic Engineers National Convention in Philadelphia. “My time helping organize the SHPE conference and seeing how the board came together was amazing. "

In recent years, SHPE has been reaching out beyond engineers to include students from other disciplines. "This expansion brought additional members from places like Economics to Computer Science to the retreat."

Mauricio notes the hard work involved in planning was worth it. "There were a lot of long nights planning, budgeting, and contacting the right people to get things in order; however, ultimately, we were all able to learn from employers, refine our professional next steps, and expand upon what we want to take from Lafayette. Huge shout-out to individuals who participated in SHPE, both alumni and those at the event, for such a memorable experience.”
