🎨MEET THE ARTISTS🦋

Hannah Breslow & Bailey Peterson

Having grown up in a musical home, Breslow’s project focuses on translating audio into graphic visuals and designs. Bold, loud, with high saturation and contrast, this body of work consists of the branding for the fictional music festival “AMPED UP.” Synthesizing creative brand marketing in innovative ways, her work continues to develop and push her portfolio while staying experimental.

Peterson’s work explores themes of neurodiversity and mental health through sculptural and ceramic mediums. Inspired by their own neurodivergent experiences and nature, Peterson creates intuitive, detail-rich metal sculptures and ceramic works that present a quiet space for not only those aspects, but the viewers, too.

🎨MEET THE ARTISTS🦋

Olivia Villarreal Bishop & Sarah Warren

Bishop describes their artwork as steeped in memory and nostalgia; their work is a view into the mind of a culturally complex childhood. Ignited from a visit to a former country of residence, their work is a love letter to the Republic of Georgia, an altar to re-remembering old memories and making new ones.

Warren displays her experiences surrounding her Catholic upbringing. Deeply inspired by the imagery of angels and architectural styles such as Rococo and Gothic, Warren creates color-rich, maximalist works that explore Catholic iconography while integrating her own experiences collected from the world around her.

🎨MEET THE ARTISTS🦋

Will Horohoe & Brie Genrich

Pulling inspiration from impressionist painters and manga artists, Horohoe’s work blends thick, bold lines with striking, painterly strokes to capture movement, narrative and emotion. His BFA work is a series of digital paintings that showcase a range of animals, who all pertain to conceptual narratives that are relative to themes of grief and identity.

Genrich’s work is influenced by her studies in graphic design and early motion studies like “The Horse in Motion” by Eadweard Muybridge. From Marinette, Genrich’s BFA work “Exploration in Light and Motion” is a framed electronic light display that combines traditional and digital craft and explores the relationship between light and motion.

🎨MEET THE ARTISTS🦋

Michelle McMahon & Jessica Cervanka

McMahon’s work blends both oil paint with mixed media elements together, creating elaborate and surreal landscapes. Taken from her childhood, McMahon utilizes themes of nostalgia and collage to explore her identity as an artist.

Cervanka’s work features narrative themes through illustration, character design, portraiture and the human figure. Nature, fantasy and gothic horror are recurring themes in her work, which are often translated through the lens of the art nouveau and arts and crafts movements.

🎨MEET THE ARTISTS🦋

Delia Brandel & Kaitlyn Romack

Brandel describes her artwork as an intersection between whimsy, nostalgia and memory. Many of her pieces are influenced by children’s book illustration and the Japanese pop art movement. Her goal with this project is to immerse the audience in the mind of a child living with an overactive imagination.

Romack’s work explores the concept of found media and the idea of community. Two of the pieces will be collages made from postcards, magazines and photos that represent the community of Eau Claire and are sourced from the community. From Eau Claire, Romack’s BFA work features concepts of light, highlights and exposure, influenced by impressionist painters’ intention of showing colors and light through minimal strokes.

🎨MEET THE ARTISTS🦋

Briella Benson & Luecy Xiong

Benson describes their artwork as touching on the topics and ideas of life and death, the “meaning” of life and finding purpose. It is inspired from their own experiences with life and death, their journey finding purpose, as well the perspectives of the society around us.

Xiong’s work explores identity, self-discovery and the reconnection of her cultural roots. Inspired from Hmong story cloths and painter Faith Ringgold, Xiong creates narrative-rich works that not only integrate a unique array of media but also explores the wide complex emotions surrounding her experiences as a Hmong American.

🎨MEET THE ARTISTS🦋

Megan Luethi & Emma Kutzke

Luethi’s work is a tribute to her mother, Pammy Plummer Luethi, and encompasses the bright, comforting essence she imprinted onto her and her family’s life. Utilizing soft and calming colors, Luethi translates memory into a tangible form, weaving together the physical experience of touch with expressions of love and remembrance.

Kutzke pulls inspiration from various sources, notably from art nouveau and children’s picture book illustrator Robin Preiss Glasser. Her BFA work includes an illustrated dessert recipe book followed by separate digital illustrations and a 3D model.
