Allstate Hospice is conducting Grief Counseling sessions for children, the youth, and for adults because, hey, we all experience loss in one way or another, be it the loss of a job, a loved one, or the loss of that A you should have gotten in Practice I. The ADULT SESSIONS will be held on SATURDAY MORNINGS starting MARCH 19TH, AFTER SPRING BREAK, so none of ya'll have an excuse to miss out! The event is open to the public free of charge, everyone is welcome to join for an hour session of discussion and activities. AND YES, there will be food!! :: LEST WE FORGET... applications for May 2016 graduation are due tonight. You still have a few hours to get it done if you did not remember. Also, there is a licensing review this THURSDAY in the SWOT building during the lunch hour, which will be the last for the semester. DECEMBER 11th is the LAST DAY FOR SWSA MEMBERS to turn in your self-reported time sheets for your points for Fall 2015.

:: NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND ON CHRISTMAS should be our motto this holiday season!! CURRENT AND FORMER SWSA MEMBERS are encouraged to buy a few extra toys and DONATE THEM TO CHILDREN in Brownsville, Texas, a city that seems so far away from us in Edinburg, McAllen, and Mission. The less fortunate depend on toy banks in order to be able to provide a little somethin'-somethin' for under the tree. Be Santa's Little Helper this year and donate as much as you can for Proyecto Juan Diego and the kids who look to this organization and its donors to come through. DON'T BE HEARTLESS, SHOW OFF YOUR THOUGHTFULNESS!!! DONATE YOUR TOYS TODAY!! Contact a SWSA OFFICER for information on drop-off information and of course, the POINTS COMPENSATION that you will be awarded.

Are you tired of being hungry while waiting for the SWSA meetings to end? Do you not have any time to go off campus and make it back for your next class? SWSA will now be offering FRITO CHILI PIES, HOT CHEETOS WITH CHEESE, PICKLES AND DRINKS during our meetings. Bring those loose dollars to our NEXT GENERAL SWSA MEETING that takes place TOMORROW AT 12.00 PM in the usual SWOT room. SEE YOU THEN, SWSA MEMBERS!!! !!!!!!

:: ATTENTION!! Have ya`ll checked your email lately??? We all have a few days left until the deadline to turn in our raffle ticket money comes up, for real-real, not for play-play. Please turn in any money that you have raised to a SWSA Officer as soon as you can. And remember, if there is any money you want to just donate to the organization, we do not mind. Just let us know what you plan on doing. ;)

The time for spreading the wealth is steadily approaching us!! If you notice any extra cans in your cupboard going unused or if you are generous, buy some extra cans of food and bring them over to the location listed in the flyer below. This is a good way to give to those in need. Remember, we are all an emergency away from needing the help of others!!

:: ANNOUNCEMENT :: SWSA members! There were not many of you at the general meeting today, so a lot less ticket money was turned in than expected. Please take the time to bring your money in as soon as possible if you have sold your assigned raffle tickets. If you have not sold all of them, we would like to remind you that YOU CAN purchase the remainder of your own tickets!! We encourage everyone to at least sell five tickets ($10 worth). Not only do YOU benefit... The tradition of providing a free party for the graduating class can continue on as it should!!!

:: WE ARE NEARING THE WEEKEND, HALLELU! But please, do not forget to finish up and sell the remainder of those raffle tickets that have been sitting in that folder or wallet of yours. ;) When you graduate, you want your party to be more than memorable. The only way we can do this is if we all help raise up that money to make things possible. We as an organization are a system that runs smoothly when everyone does their part and helps their fellow colleague celebrate their accomplishments. And yes, we are keeping tabs on who is selling the most and who isn't. We see everything.

Applications for Phi Alpha Mu Honor Society are due tomorrow!!! Take ten minutes out of your Facebook time to make corrections, additions or maybe just to review your applications to make sure they are representative of who you are as a social worker in training. Drop your applications off with the wonderfully helping women who will be in the main office at the SWOT building until 5.00 p.m.

On behalf of the officers of SWSA, we encourage all of our current and former members to 'like' this page and share it with others in order to expand our reaches into the many communities that are found in the Rio Grande Valley.
