This role serves as a primary advisor for Fraternity/Sorority Life (FSL), overseeing two governing councils and leading community-wide initiatives that enhance leadership, accountability, and values-based engagement.

What is your favorite thing about UCO or the SIC?
“My favorite thing about UCO is the amount of things you can get involved in. I am personally involved in Big Event, Tri Sigma sorority, and I am the Panhellenic Vice President of Accountability.”

“I am from Choctaw, Oklahoma. I have worked at the SIC for a year now. I love reading and drawing, as well as spontaneous adventures. Rollercoasters and adrenaline rushed give me life.”

What is your favorite thing about UCO or the SIC?
“My favorite thing about UCO is the forensic science department, it is absolutely amazing, beautiful, and the professors are top notch. I also love the community that the SIC gives students and the gorgeous campus that is UCO.”

This event will be a know-your-rights information session hosted by both Hispanic American Student Association and Native American Student Association. Located in the Nigh University Center Heritage Room 326 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Join Black Student Association’s (BSA) as they host “Panel of Black Excellence” where Panelists will come in and talk about how they got to a successful point in their careers. Located in the Nigh University Center Ballroom A from 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.

Do you want to learn how to do line dances we love here at University of Central Oklahoma? Come SPBoogie down with the Student Programming Board in the Cherokee Room on the second floor of the Nigh University Center! They will be playing and showing people how to do a lot of line dances from 6-8PM. Come get to know them and some more of UCO’s spirit!

Tuesday, February 17
Celebrate Black History Month with BSA at Fast-paced Amazing Race–style competition celebrating Black History Month! Teams will race through a series of interactive stations featuring challenges based on influential Black leaders, cultural moments, music, art, inventions, and historic events. Don’t miss out on the time from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. located in the Nigh University Center: Carl Albert Room 300.

The Spring Career and Internship Fair connects students looking for job, internship and graduate school opportunities with employers and graduate schools. This event is STLR tagged in the Health & Wellness Tenet.

Thursday, February 19
Black Student Association (BSA) has another line-up for another one of their anticipated events: Step into a reimagined era of art, music, and expression at Harlem Renaissance… Revamped! Join BSA for a night that blends the iconic creativity of the 1920s with today’s cultural flair. Enjoy live performances, fashion, poetry, dance, and artistic showcases that honor the brilliance of the original Harlem Renaissance while highlighting modern Black artistry. Come dressed to impress, immerse yourself in the vibe, and experience a celebration of creativity-past, present, and future. Located in the Nigh University Center Will Rogers Room 421 at 6 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.

Happy Friday! Join Malaysian Student Association’s upcoming event to celebrate the Chinese Lunar New Year with Malaysians, international and local students. Bring the tradition and nostalgia of this annual celebration in Malaysia over here to students in UCO. Located in the Nigh University Center, Robert S Kerr Room 301 at 4:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. You do not want to miss this event!

This week’s SIC Spotlight is Kennedei Taylor! ✨

Kennedei is a sophomore studying Psychology here at UCO! She currently serves as the Co-Director of Promotions for TEDxUCO, a mentor for Crowning: Her, and is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Along with working in the SIC, she also works at Aerie Offline in Penn Square Mall.

“My favorite thing about the SIC is the fact that I can work with my friends, talk, or do homework all in one place. It’s a very high-traffic spot that has endless opportunities, and everyone can feel safe and comfy!”

Galentine’s Social Night is a fun, welcoming event hosted by the Society of Women Engineers focused on building community and connection among members. Join them for a relaxed evening of conversation, light activities, and friendship as we take a break from classes and celebrate women supporting women in STEM. This event is open to all who are interested in SWE and looking to connect in a supportive environment. Located in Howell Hall 118E at 4 p.m. - 6 p.m.

Did someone say pottery painting? Come and join the UCO Classics Club as they celebrate Lupercalia in a fun night of terra cotta tray painting. What is Lupercalia? You’ll have to come find out! Located Liberal Arts North Building from 5 p.m. -7 p.m.

Guess what? It’s almost Valentine’s Day! Let the love bloom with Student Programming Board! Stop by and create your own flower bouquet and design a sweet handwritten note or card to go with it. Whether you’re making something for a friend, a partner, or treating yourself to a little self-love, this event is a fun and creative way to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Come enjoy a relaxing break, get crafty, and spread a little love! Time: 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. in the Nigh University Center

The Black Student Association will host its annual Black History Month Kickoff Celebration, featuring guest speaker Apostle Rickey Hunt Sr. This event will open the month with inspiration, reflection, and unity as we honor the legacy, culture, and continued impact of Black excellence. Students, faculty, and community members are invited to join us for an engaging program that sets the tone for a month of celebration, education, and empowerment. Location: Constitution Hall in the Nigh University Center from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

The Fiber Arts Club aims to foster a vibrant community where individuals can come together to appreciate and celebrate the art of fiber and stitching.
