Recently, our URCAs (undergraduate research assistants) did some fieldwork at St. Stanislaus Conservation Area in Hazelwood, MO. They’re currently working on digital storytelling projects that investigate the site’s history and ecology — so while this looks like fun (and it was!), it’s also research!

If you want to hear what they’ve been up to, join us in person or online tomorrow at the St. Louis Digital Humanities Showcase. They’ll be sharing their work in progress, along with MA student Kezia Miller and students from schools across the region.

At SIUE, the CODES program provides an alternative general education experience that connects students’ coursework to the St. Louis region. In CODES 123, students focus on building ethical research plans and using both qualitative and quantitative methods to solve problems across disciplines.

Introducing Manifold!

The IRIS Center now supports Manifold, a web publishing platform that enables the creation of rich, interactive texts. Manifold also facilitates reader engagement through social annotation and reading communities, making it a great choice for OER, student projects, and public scholarship.

This Friday, come learn about Manifold at our monthly Morning Bytes.
