Please join us in celebrating Dr. Jessica Kerr, Illinois recipient of the 2026 Bowl of Hygeia Award!

The Bowl of Hygeia is one of the highest honors recognizing pharmacists for outstanding commitment to community service and the profession of pharmacy.

Since the SIUE School of Pharmacy first opened its doors, Dr. Kerr has been there—helping build our School and embodying its spirit of service from the very beginning. Through leading community health initiatives, mentoring hundreds of student pharmacists, and contributing to pharmacy services through international missions, she has dedicated her career to making a difference.

Her passion for service is contagious, and her impact is truly extraordinary.

🌟🎥 SIUE School of Pharmacy Faculty Spotlight Series: Dr. Jessica Kerr

Dr. Jessica Kerr is the Associate Dean of Professional and Student Affairs and professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice. She joined the SIUE School of Pharmacy in 2005 from the University of South Carolina College of Pharmacy. Dr. Kerr is a graduate of the St. Louis College of Pharmacy, where she earned both her B.S. and doctorate in pharmacy. She trained at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Amarillo, where she specialized in primary care. Her current practice site is in coordination with the Veterans Affairs Medical Center Shiloh outpatient clinic, which provides geriatric care and cardiovascular risk management services to United States veterans living in Southern Illinois.

Congratulations to Charlyse Roy, PharmD Candidate, on receiving the Alan Granat Memorial Award at the Illinois Pharmacists Association (IPhA) Annual State Conference!

Established in memory of former IPhA Executive Director Alan Granat, this award is presented annually to a pharmacist or student pharmacist who demonstrates an exceptional commitment to the pharmacy profession and their community through active involvement in professional organizations and community service.
