May was one for the books! 🎓✨

🥂 We raised a toast to the Class of 2026 at the Always a Cougar Graduation Celebration before commencement weekend.

💛 Golden Graduation Reunion welcomed alumni who graduated 50+ years ago back to campus to reconnect, celebrate, and take part in commencement alongside the Class of 2026.

🎓 Nearly 2,000 graduates were recognized, celebrated, and became the newest members of an alumni family more than 120,000 strong.

From celebrating generations of Cougars to welcoming our newest alumni, May was filled with milestones, memories, and Cougar pride. ❤️

Brandi Spann ’26 🌟
M.A. in English Literature

Brandi says her SIUE experience has been shaped by opportunities to teach first-year writing, study abroad in Ireland, and write for the student newspaper. She credits SIUE’s supportive faculty, staff, and community for helping her grow both personally and professionally throughout the past five years.

Next stop: continuing to teach college courses while pursuing her PhD! ✨

Murphy Sweeney '26 🌟
B.S. in Applied Communication Studies with a focus in Public Relations and a minor in Marketing.

Murphy says her SIUE experience gave her valuable opportunities through her sorority, classes, and senior project that helped her gain hands-on experience and strengthen her communication skills with a variety of people.

Next stop: State Farm Corporate Headquarters, where she’ll work as an Auto Claims Specialist in the Injury Department! ✨
