MFGworks is the home of the South West Arkansas Community College Consortium (SWACCC), which includes seven two-year colleges, servicing 28 counties in the southwest region of Arkansas. SWACCC is the recipient of a Department of Labor grant for $8,419,390, awarded in 2013, from the Employment and Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training (TAACCCT) program. SWACCC colleges h

ave revised or newly-developed over 100 courses and new pathways in various aspects of advanced manufacturing, including industrial technology, welding, process technology, and logistics tracks. The Consortium includes Arkansas State University Three Rivers, University of Arkansas Cossatot, National Park College, University of Arkansas Rich Mountain, South Arkansas Community College, Southern Arkansas University Tech, and University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana. The focus of this initiative is on advanced manufacturing, and we offer programs of study in welding, chemical process technology, supply chain management/logistics, industrial technology/mechatronics, truck driving, industrial robotics, industrial electricity, and more.

This is a hands-on shop role for someone who is dependable, safety-minded, and comfortable working in an industrial environment.

What You’ll Be Doing:

What to Expect:

Camden, Arkansas is a rising hub for the aerospace and defense sector, manufacturing munitions and components that protect the United States and its allies around the world. In The Wall Street Journal, reporter Chao Deng profiles Camden and its thriving aerospace and defense industry to learn more about the area and its workforce:

"The efforts largely worked, and have helped turn the area into an engine for America’s war machine. As of last year, Ouachita County, where Camden sits, and neighboring Calhoun County employed 3,140 people in their aerospace and defense industries, up about 54% from 2020, according to the Arkansas Department of Commerce.

On his visit to Camden in February, part of a national defense tour that included stops in Newport News, Va., and Fort Worth, Texas, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth praised the more than 1,500 employees at L3Harris Technologies’ facilities in Camden, for their speed and proficiency in producing rocket motors. He said they were setting the pace for the rest of the U.S. defense industrial base."
