Latin American & Border Studies research assistants, Vanessa Almada and Felipe Martinez, enjoying a productive summer! Vanessa was awarded a US Department of Education Title VI Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) Summer Fellowship in São Paulo, Brazil. Felipe is learning and working in Washington, D.C., through the Graduate Archer Fellowship Program. This program was established by the University of Texas System to bring graduate and medical students interested in policy and politics to our nation’s capital to learn about the federal government and public service.
