📢This week, a group of faculty and staff wrapped up UTEP’s inaugural Microcredential Summer Institute. They collaborated with experts from The University of Texas System, Anthology, Workcred, Coursera, Territorium and colleagues from the UTEP Center for Instructional Design, UTEP Inspire, and the Curriculum Effectiveness and Improvement team to design and integrate microcredentials into courses and programs that enhance student success at UTEP. Participants focused on a range of disciplinary areas including creative writing, chemistry, linguistics, information literacy, physical therapy, communication, and education. Participants received a stipend through the Strada Education Foundation's Beyond Completion Challenge Grant in recognition of their commitment to advancing meaningful learning pathways.

Fernanda Garcia, Ph.D., a professor at UTEP’s Woody L. Hunt College of Business (pictured far left), received the 2025 UNCTAD Impact Award from the Academy of International Business for research shaping global policy on gender equality. Her work has informed recommendations across global institutions like the World Bank and UN Trade and Development.
