UTEP Learning Environments The Undergraduate Learning Center was the first fully technological building in a university in the country.

Underneath it’s ancient and traditional exterior, designed to remain faithful to the university’s distinctive Bhutanese architecture, lies a high-tech world where students and faculty members have an educational environment that places the world at their fingertips. In keeping with UTEP’s goal of becoming the first Tier 1 university with 21st century student demographic, an innovative telepresence

room (a combination of real-time video, audio, and interactive technologies) was recently added to the UGLC's arsenal. This technology allows UTEP to distinguish itself as a leader in communications and worldwide outreach. UTEP builds on its reputation as a leader in higher education by incorporating the technological tools of today to prepare well-rounded students who can complete in the global market of today and tomorrow. The Undergraduate Learning Center ushered in the “Golden Age of Information” by bringing together the best of the past and the future. The blend of the traditional and the new is symbolic of UTEP’s success in building on the solid foundation of its past to create a bright future for students.
