Rachel Picciotto, MSOT ‘18, knew she wanted a career in health sciences or the medical profession, so during her undergraduate training in exercise science at High Point University in High Point, North Carolina, she began looking into occupational therapy because it has a large scope of practice and provides many career opportunities.

This week, the first-year Optometry students attended their second Clinical Skills Lab. First, they learned how to use auto-refraction and non-contact tonometer equipment. They also practiced taking visual acuity at distance and near. Lastly, with the help of clinical preceptors, students learned how to interpret visual field loss.
