WDTV visited our campus on Friday and spoke with President Wood about the Citizens Bank of West Virginia Emerging Leaders Scholarship program, an incredible opportunity for West Virginia high school students to attend D&E tuition-free.

In addition to the full-ride scholarship, D&E awards over $750,000 in scholarships each year through this amazing program. Additional scholarship awards range from $5,000 up to $15,000 per year!

The Emerging Leaders Scholarship is back, and this could be your opportunity to earn a life-changing scholarship to Davis & Elkins College!

Open to all 2027 West Virginia high school seniors (public, private, and homeschool) with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 📚

One Grand Prize Recipient will receive a FOUR-YEAR, FULL-RIDE scholarship to Davis & Elkins College, including:
• Tuition
• Room
• Board

Additional scholarships ranging from $5,000–$15,000 annually will also be awarded.

In total, more than $775,000 in scholarship funding will be awarded through the Emerging Leaders Scholarship!

Davis & Elkins College is proud to host the American Legion Auxiliary West Virginia Rhododendron Girls State program for the ninth consecutive year, continuing a partnership that began in 2018. All participants in the program are eligible to receive an annual $5000 scholarship, renewable for 4 years, should they choose to attend D&E.

“It’s always a highlight of the year to welcome Rhododendron Girls State to Davis & Elkins College,” says Davis & Elkins College Dean of Students and Assistant Director of Girls State, Kate Garlick.

“It’s inspiring to see these young women build confidence, find their voice, and step into leadership roles. Rhododendron Girls State plays an important role in fostering civic engagement and helping these young leaders understand the impact they can have in their communities. We are proud to support their experience and look forward to the impact they will continue to make.”

What does "Creating Home" mean at Davis & Elkins College? 🔴⚪

It means 298 donors coming together to invest in the future of D&E.

It means surpassing our capital campaign goal of $25 million and, instead, raising $25,271,842.

It means ensuring that students arriving on these hallowed grounds each year have a place to live, learn, connect, and belong. 🤝

And it means that the impact of this campaign will forever be known through Glory Residence Hall, the cornerstone of our Freshmen Village, strengthening our campus community for generations to come.

To every friend across the globe, alumni of the College, and community supporter from right here in our hometown who made this possible: thank you for helping to strengthen our "home among the hills." 🫂

This week, we celebrated the completion of our Creating Home Campaign with our staff, Board of Trustees, and the D&E family. We could not be more grateful for the way our community has rallied behind this project as we work diligently to create a space where our students can thrive and connect with each other. Each donation has helped us make this campus a home for so many students. Glory Residence Hall is complete; Roxanna Booth Hall and Gribble Hall are underway, and it wouldn't be possible without YOU.

This Creating Home campaign effort has been one of the most significant in our history. The impact is already being realized, and will continue to be for many years. Thank you.
