NDSU Extension - Dickey County NDSU Extension empowers North Dakotans to enhance their lives and livelihoods through research-based education aligned with community priorities.

🍀 Step-Up Saturday: Let’s Support Kedish Kare! 🍀

Help us step up for our community by donating hygiene supplies for the **Kedish Kare Program**, which provides personal-care items in school bathroom caddies for students who need them.

Donations can be:

💚 Dropped off in the designated tote at the **Kedish House**
💚 Arranged for pickup by sending our office a Facebook message—our Extension agent will be happy to meet you and collect your donation!

Suggested items include shampoo, conditioner, body wash, deodorant, toothbrushes, toothpaste, feminine hygiene products, combs, brushes, and other new, unopened personal-care products.

A **huge shout-out to the Prairie Rose 4-H Club** for holding a donation drive for the Kedish Kare Program and completing a ditch clean-up last weekend! Thank you for stepping up, serving your community, and showing what 4-H is all about. 🍀💚

One of the best things about 4-H is that there isn’t just one way to be a 4-H’er.

Maybe your spark is showing livestock, creating something, competing on a judging team, shooting archery, serving your community, speaking in front of a crowd, learning to lead, or trying something completely new. 💚

4-H gives youth the opportunity to explore their interests, build skills and discover what makes them excited to learn and grow.

And sometimes that first little spark turns into something much bigger. 🌱✨

We started Thankful Thursday recognizing the adults and community members who help our 4-H youth grow, so it seems fitting to end the day celebrating youth who are stepping up to lead. 💚

Our Dickey County 4-H Ambassadors share their time, ideas and talents while representing 4-H, serving their community and helping create opportunities for other members.

Today we’re especially thankful for the local businesses and organizations that said YES when we asked them to help with our Giving Clover campaign!

These businesses are hosting Giving Clover donation boxes throughout Dickey County, giving our communities an easy way to help us reach our $1,000 goal for the Dickey County 4-H Scholarship Fund.

Dickey County 4-H doesn't grow on its own. Behind our youth, clubs, events and opportunities is a community that continues to show up and support them.

So much of what happens in 4-H is possible because people are willing to show up, lend a hand and give their time.

From helping at events and contests to judging, teaching, setting up, cleaning up, hauling supplies and stepping in wherever help is needed, our volunteers are an important part of Dickey County 4-H.

Yesterday, we traveled around Dickey County and celebrated the clubs that make up our 4-H family. Today, we’re starting by thanking the people who help make those clubs possible: our club leaders and 4-H parents!

From organizing meetings and activities to hauling kids, helping with projects, volunteering when an extra hand is needed and encouraging youth along the way, you are an important part of their 4-H experience.

Some lead from the front. Some work quietly behind the scenes. All of you help our members learn, grow and find their spark. 🌱

First up is Dakota Workers 4-H Club, a club with deep roots and a long tradition in Dickey County 4-H. 💚
Through the years, members have explored countless projects, developed leadership skills, served their community and made memories through 4-H. Today's members continue that tradition while finding their own interests and creating new experiences.
