Hey seniors, tonight you get your oak sapling. 🌱 You did it. You’re no longer an acorn. It’s time to plant new roots, maybe repot yourself a few times until you’re stronger, sturdier. Then reach deep, stand firm, be flexible. As you grow you might throw a little shade🙄 or become a shelter 🐿️🐦⬛ or both. So, in the spirit of the moment, we’re offering some advice: Take some time to consider where you want to plant your sapling. It’s small but hardy and it can handle a few temporary homes. And while you can read all of that as a metaphor encouraging you to believe in yourself, take your time, you got this, YOU DID THIS… it’s also facts: That is Dr. Gatti’s oak “sapling” in the photos. It just turned 21 and can legally buy a beer. 🍺 It has been through some stuff (she forgot about it for several years and let it languish in a plastic pot before finally planting it in her backyard) but now it’s ENORMOUS. 😬 Plant carefully, y’all.
