Elon choral and music education grads...and well, everyone! I'm excited that thus far i have several gigs coming up in 2026-2027 for honor choirs and adjudication. Would love to visit your district or state for all-state or district/county honor choirs. Or visit for adjudication, workshops, presentations. I've done clinics and adjudication in choral, band, instrumental and vocal jazz. Put me to work---fill my calendar. Would LOVE to visit!

Greetings all!
An exciting program coming up down in Chapel Hill.
Voices - The Chapel Hill Chorus is pleased to announce its Spring 2026 concert, “Hope and Light,” which will feature professional soloists, orchestra and over 150 community singers singing Mozart’s Requiem. Our guesst artists will include soloists Detra Davis (Soprano), Lauren Harris (Alto) and Paul Groves (Tenor), Coleridge Nash (Bass).

Our chamber ensemble, Cantari, will open the concert with Epoch of Hughes, by up-and-coming Jasmine Barnes which transports listeners to early 20th century Harlem as it sets the work of Langston Hughes to complex melodies.

“Hope and Light” will run at East Chapel Hill High School at 7:30 pm on Saturday, May 16. Tickets are sold on a sliding scale with a standard price of $20, a student price of $10, and kids attending free! Spring Choral Showcase
The Elon choirs, Chorale and Camerata, each present their own set of works, secular and sacred, from a diverse selection of genre and composers. Special guest ensemble appearance by the Que the Music Academy Choir. The choirs will then combine culminating in a spectacular grand finale. No admission charge.

The orchestra did an outstanding performance receiving a standing ovation AND a curtain call from 280 enthusiastic audience members! Wow! Great job Elon Orchestra!

The Elon Camerata will perform Eric Whitacre’s Five Hebrew Love Songs, and John Corgliano’s Fern Hill (featuring the poetry of Dylan Thomas). Elon collaborative pianist Christy Wisuthseriwong is featured on the program. No admission charge.

Greetings one and all! I'm wishing everyone a joyous and relaxing Holiday Season. We've done some outstanding programs this past fall. It compels me to give something back. I'm issuing a challenge to all of our Elon Choral Alumni. Beginning Monday, Dec. 15, 2025 and running until midnight, Dec. 31, 2025, I (Futrell) personally will match each $25 dollar donation to the Choral Designated Fund in support of Elon Choral Activities. Help us celebrate the first 25 years of the millennium with just a $25 gift. Make me spend my money as I will match them all. Go to https://connect2.elon.edu/g/make-a-gift
In the text box under "Select Funds" type in "choral" and you will see "Choral Program" come up as an option. Select that and click on $25. Of course give more if you wish. But since 2025 is coming to a close, I figured why not $25?
