Dear Alumni and Friends of the E&H Honors Program--It is with regret that Honors must announce that we must cancel this year's traditional Homecoming mixer, for Friday, October 13th.

No one is sick and our budget is fine, but Dr. Boltwood must be in Muncie, Indiana, to speak at the Minorities in Honors conference. Unfortunately, a new committee structure has replaced the long-serving Honors Steering Committee with an entirely new Honors Committee, with faculty all new to Honors.

In other words, there is no college-approved "host" for the event.

We sincerely apologize that our fantastic alumni will not be able to all meet up at the picturesque Field Station, but Honors assures you that our Homecoming Mixer will return next year.

(Sooner, if we can find an event to connect it to!)

Check out what our Honors students are up to! Many of us are involved with the Emory & Henry Outdoor Program. Over the summer, some students worked on the creation and promotion of the newest edition of the Outdoor Program: the bouldering crag. Congrats to our current students Henry, Layne, and Kaelee and our alum Jess for doing such incredible work to better the E&H community! Your talents and dedication do not go unnoticed!

Our new first-year members are moving in this morning, and we are headed to camp Lutherock this afternoon for Honors Orientation! Depending on phone/internet service, we should be sharing more photos soon. Wish us luck!

What’s a good way to spend the last bit of your break: Knoxville field trips, building friendships stronger than popsicle bridges, and good food! Thank you to every one who came to welcome the in-course admits to our family. We couldn’t have asked for a better ICA Orientation!

Last weekend some of our Honors Scholars went to the National Collegiate Honors Council Conference in Atlanta, GA! Great fun was had with students from Bethany College!
