Mechatronics class finishing up the year with a fun little final project. Had to measure, create a parts list, then assemble their “guy”. If it was pvc or copper, it had to be leak-free. If it was welded, it had to pass a rigorous “drop test”. Nice job, guys!!!

Can’t say enough about Cody Wright. Came to the IET program in Fall 2016 as a junior from Olpe High School. Earned his tech certificate, then his AAS degree while serving as a lab assistant as well. Then as soon as he was done with school he started teaching evening classes while working at Frito Lay in Topeka. He taught his last class (for now) tonight. Thanks for everything Cody, you will be missed!!!

It’s been a wild ride this year. But, we got to end it with a class trip to Top Golf. We had a great time and we didn’t break anything. Glad we got to spend some time together outside of the classroom.

Each year we recognize the top students for the first year and second year students. Jarrett White and Kyle Hayes are the top students for their respective class. Drew Pyle and Brome Rayburn are second place for their respective class.

These students have gone above and beyond what they are asked to do in the classroom. It was a great year with lots of quality students.

The IET students spent the last 2 days teaching electrical and automation to Chase County Elementary School 6th graders. It was a fun experience to see both sets of students enjoy their time and learn. We utilized Allen-Bradley Micrologix processors with the Connected Components Workbench software. This will become a yearly trip for the IET students.
