Senator Jerry Moran came to visit FHTC campus yesterday. He announced the appropriation of $320,000 in Congressionally Designated Funding by Kansas to purchase FANUC robotic training arms. President Daugherty shared that she applied for the funding four years ago, with the hope that we would be given the opportunity to expand our Industrial Engineering Technology program. This machine helps students get familiar with the machinery, so they can step into most manufacturing environments with confidence. Thank you Senator Moran for another visit to campus.

Earlier this month FHTC helped volunteer at Battle of the Books. Students compete against each other by forming teams, reading the selected books, and then answering questions about them. Teams consist of 3 or 4 students and there's two levels: 3rd - 5th grade and 6th - 8th grade. As volunteers, we have taken the roles of time keeper and Book Master and love helping out every time.
