In response to our students’ desire to learn more about the essence of Dr. Motoyama’s teaching, and the need for the consciousness community to reflect on key values and principles in today’s turbulent world, we are sharing the articles of divine instruction that Dr. Motoyama said were sent by God. We are proud to be governed by these values in the CIHS community and lead the conversation on the future of consciousness science.

1. God creates the cosmos and the worlds of spirits, giving them life.

2. God, with love and wisdom, gives life to all things, enabling all to achieve a higher spirituality.

3. Know God’s love and emulate it.

4. One is born by virtue of one’s individual karma, one’s family karma, the karma of one’s country, and the karma of the earth.

5. Fulfill all one’s karmas and return to the selfless Divine Self.

6. All beings live by virtue of God’s love and are destroyed by the force of matter.

7. Believe in God, and all things will be fulfilled.

8. Care for people and nature with God’s love.

9. All things perish; do not be trapped in attachment.

10. At each moment, devote yourself selflessly to the task at hand without regard to the outcome; all will return to the Absolute God.

11. One who is trapped within one’s self (ego) harms people and things.

12. The human world stands on the harmony among people, nature, spirits, and the worlds of spirits.

13. One who loves people, nature and spirits is naturally empowered to establish and realize oneself.

14. One who harms people and nature perishes.

15. One who loves (i.e., is unified with) God enables all things to exist in the way in which they were meant.

Implications of UFO Phenomena with Jacques Vallée

Presented by the California Institute for Human Science
On the New Thinking Allowed YouTube Channel

This video is a special release from the original Thinking Allowed series that ran on public television from 1986 until 2002. It was recorded in about 1988. It will remain public for only one week.

Regardless of the physical reality of UFOs, says Jacques Vallée, PhD, the fact that people believe they have experienced contact with alien entities is an appropriate subject for scientific scrutiny. Vallée is a computer scientist, UFO researcher and author whose books include Challenge to Science, Anatomy of a Phenomenon, The Edge of Reality, The Invisible College and Messengers of Deception.

He shares the parallel universe hypothesis of quantum physics and its implications for literature and psychology. He discusses the history of conspiracies and defends his interest in subjects that are considered most taboo by society at large. He concludes by reflecting on the Taoist wisdom embodied in the old Kung Fu television series.

His newest book is Original Love: The Timeless Source of Wholeness.

Glenn Aparicio Parry explores love as the primordial force underlying nature, consciousness, and the cosmos itself. He describes how ancient wisdom traditions, indigenous worldviews, and modern physics all point toward love as the vibration that restores wholeness amid strife. He also reflects on time, ritual, the moon, and the evolution of human consciousness as pathways for remembering our deeper unity with all life.

We had a wonderful tribute and celebration last night! Thank you to our speakers, and to all who joined us.

The following speakers presented their personal stories of working with Dr. Motoyama:

Dr. Richard Jelusich, CIHS Board Chair
Dr. Timothy Laporte, CIHS Board Vice Chair
Masato Kashiwakura, CIHS Trustee
Dr. Thomas Brophy, CIHS Past President
Dr. Gaetan Chevalier, CIHS faculty
Dr. Hideki Baba, CIHS Dean of Administration
Dr. Rick Gold, former CIHS Trustee

Dr. Motoyama was the Founder and First President of CIHS.

For Students and Graduates, Dr. Motoyama's teachings have been an integral part of your training.

At the California Institute for Human Science, we are inspired by the principles and philosophy of our founder and first President, Dr. Hiroshi Motoyama. Dr. Motoyama’s life was directed toward laying the foundations for the emergence of a new integrative worldview wherein the insights derived from religion, spirituality, and science could be harmonized and unified.

Specifically, Dr. Motoyama held that the materialistic universe disclosed by twentieth century science is but one aspect of a broader and deeper cosmos that includes spiritual dimensions. He taught that the human being consists of body, mind, soul, and spirit, and that humanity’s deepest essence is love and wisdom. All human beings have an inherent capability to achieve oneness with God and to realize the underlying emptiness of the Absolute.

See how CIHS is leading into the future with advanced programs that engage body, mind, soul and spirit while integrating new technologies and preserving Dr. Motoyama’s belief that humanity’s deepest essence is love and wisdom.

UFOs and Nukes, Live Stream Event, Sunday, December 14
New Thinking Allowed is Presented by the
California Institute for Human Science

Robert Hastings is author of UFOs and Nukes: Extraordinary Encounters at Nuclear Weapons Sites. Hastings is the co-author (with Bob Jacobs) of Confession: Our Hidden Alien Encounters Revealed.

Here he will review UFO sightings at numerous nuclear missile launch sites. In some cases, these sightings were associated with either activation or deactivation of missile launch sequences. He will also describe personal encounters he has experienced since childhood with ostensible non-human entities. He suggests that these entities are closely monitoring the development of nuclear weapons.

Please enjoy part ll of the letter from our CIHS architect and cherished friend of Dr. Motoyama; Hiroo Kurano AIA Emeritus

The insights of Dr. Sato were also invaluable and were thoughtfully integrated into the planning process.

I recall with great clarity that upon beginning the design of the Phase II building, you suddenly remarked, “Since the first phase is defined by triangles, the next should be circular.” From that moment, the concept of today’s campus was born. The harmonious composition of buildings—combining circular and triangular forms around the stone garden and reflective fountain—symbolizes the diversity of all who learn and gather there. At the same time, the serenity and balance that the campus exudes so eloquently express your vision. Indeed, this harmony and tranquility manifest the very spirit of Japan’s sukiya(数寄屋) architectural tradition. Your guiding spirit will remain embedded within this campus for generations to come.

Throughout the many years of our association, you have been both a revered teacher to me and a cherished friend. We spend many hours together with Mrs. Motoyama to enjoy exploring areas of Southern California. It has been among the greatest honors of my professional life to have served as the architect of this campus.

Once again, please accept my most sincere congratulations on your 100th birthday.
With the highest respect,

Hiroo Kurano AIA Emeritus

Join us on Zoom Monday December 15th at 5PM pacific time- find the link at www.cihs.edu (scroll down the page for the log in info.) The evening will honor Dr. Motoyama's legacy and 100th birthday with guest speakers and presenters.

As the countdown to Dr. Motoyama's 100th birthday celebration continues, it is with great pleasure we share an excerpt from a letter from the architect for our CIHS campus; Hiroo Kurano AIA Emeritas.

Happy 100th birthday to Dr. Motoyama. It is truly remarkable that nearly twenty-eight years have passed since the completion of the second and final phase of the campus construction. Thanks to the steadfast dedication of the faculty who oversee the school, both the campus and its buildings continue to preserve their original appearance even today. As an architect, I am filled with gratitude each time I visit and see how faithfully the campus has been maintained."

My association with Dr. Motoyama began thirty-one years ago, in September of 1994, when we commenced our search together for the school’s future home. As a campus requires a substantial expanse of land, we were faced with numerous municipal constraints, and it was no simple task to find a site that matched your vision of an ideal learning environment. Nevertheless, after much effort, we were able to designate the present location as the embodiment of that ideal, and I was
honored to proceed with its design.
