Madeline Emerson '26 earned her Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Advertising Communications and a minor in Innovation and Creativity.
Maddie, from Bradford, Pa., originally came to Gannon because her pappy graduated from Gannon and she liked the location and size. After the first semester of her college experience at Gannon, she was ready to withdraw and transfer. Hesitantly, she stayed. And she engaged. She joined clubs and got involved on campus. She planted roots and made relationships.
It was the best decision she ever made.
“This university has transformed me personally, professionally and spiritually,” she said. “I have had amply opportunities to serve the community, deepen my faith, build connections, and receive a well-rounded education.”
Maddie received the Gannon University Medal of Honor, an accolade given to a graduating senior who in the opinion of the faculty, staff, administration and the student's own classmates, has done the most to further the interests of the University, to foster loyal college spirit and to carry out the ideals of the Christian life.
She plans to pursue a career in higher education, both as a student and as professional. She’d love to land a job in higher education marketing or continue her education to pursue a Master’s degree.
