A Mercyhurst degree in communication is designed to empower you to keep up with this rapidly changing field of journalism, social media, film, public relations, graphic design and more. The field of communication is broad, that’s why Mercyhurst has designed a comprehensive core program with the opportunity to tailor the rest of your degree to your career goals. You’ll receive a solid foundation in

the field through traditional classroom instruction and real-world experiences, such as internships, research projects, campaign and business proposals, documentary/film productions and trade show management. Our faculty members teach from experience; you’ll learn from a former city newspaper editor, design and social media experts and published communication theorists. You’ll also have several opportunities to network with industry professionals and alums through projects and student clubs. Everything we do in the Communication Department prepares you for your future. Before graduation, you’ll have opportunities to job shadow and intern with a business of choice, and you’ll prepare print and online portfolios to increase your marketability to potential employers or graduate schools. Mercyhurst's communication program prepares students for entry into the communication industry. For graduates of the communication program, the career opportunities are endless.
