We read the Great Books in a discussion-based format in order to help students grow in their understanding of God, the world, and themselves. in Liberal Arts. Birds, Bugs, and Mushrooms - Local nature photographer Bob Blanchard's work is featured in the Puccinelli Gallery at Gutenberg College this fall. Bob describes this show as the "cream of the crop" from the last 25+ years of his photography career. Join us at the gallery this Friday, September 4th at 7:00pm, for a show opening hosted by the artist!

Bob's nature photography will be on display in the Puccinelli Gallery through the month of October. The gallery will be open from 12 p.m.-3p.m. M-F, and 10 a.m.-12 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday. Evening and weekend visits may be coordinated by contacting the Gutenberg office.

What if a college treated students as scholars rather than customers?

Gutenberg College is a small, Christian Great Books college in the Pacific Northwest endeavoring to provide an outstanding education for the whole person. Our goal is to apprentice our students towards becoming mature, independent thinkers who can engage wisely with themselves, with others, and with the challenges unique to their own moment in history.

Over the past few decades, college tuition has skyrocketed while the value of college degrees has steadily declined. Gutenberg strives to buck both these trends by providing a truly valuable education at an affordable cost. Students who join the college receive an average of $6,550 each year in student aid from Gutenberg's grant and scholarship programs. For many of our students, this financial aid makes attending a viable possibility.

All of our grant and scholarship programs are donor-funded. This summer, Gutenberg's Board of Governors has agreed to match the first $21,800 in donations to raise $43,600 for student aid. Every donation between now and August 31 will go twice as far.

All three of our seniors have contributed so much to the community over the past four years, enriching the musical culture here, organizing student activities, and working long hours at summer events. We are excited to see where the next chapter of their lives will lead!

We are excited to announce Leigh Bortins of Classical Conversations as our keynote speaker at EdCon 2026!

Do historical models of education have a place in a digital age? Leigh Bortins, founder of Classical Conversations and Aerospace Engineer, argues that classical education prepares students to do their own thinking. Those who possess their own knowledge and human tools to use it are better equipped to use digital tools (such as AI) to their advantage than those who allow AI to do their thinking for them.
