Students are encouraged to discuss, challenge, and critique information and performance by interacting with instructors, TAs, and fellow students. Students should “own” their EMT knowledge and be able to apply it to scenario situations. We uphold the idea that a great class and lab experience can make learning more engaging, meaningful, and successful. A great lab experience will include working i
n smaller teams, which allows students to practice like a licensed EMT. It is a place where hands-on, practical, and visual learners can make lecture content tangible and concrete. It is a safe place where students can become fully prepared to enter the EMT field. The EMT teaching team will provide a positive environment for diverse learners to achieve their goals, and will encourage (or more, expect) student participation. We uphold the mantra, “No patient should suffer or die because of the EMT who happens to be on shift.”
