Dr. Deepu Murthy, principal investigator of the Adaptive Memory Lab, held a workshop this past weekend that brought together researchers from the areas of cognitive neuroscience and clinical psychology, to discuss the role of episodic memory in psychological disorders. Our brains process social similarity in two ways—by comparing people to each other and by comparing them to ourselves. A new study using brain imaging reveals that these forms of person knowledge are represented in separate areas of the brain.

Please join us for our annual Leona Tyler lecture with Dr. Emily Ozer from UC Berkeley School of Public Health. Dr. Ozer’s research focuses on the role of school climate in adolescent development and mental health. The lecture will be held Friday, May 9th in Jaqua Center room 101 at 2:30pm.

Thanks to Dr. Robert Cabeza from Duke University for speaking at our 36th annual Fred Attneave Memorial Lecture! Dr. Cabeza shared his research on the different ways memory and brain activity are connected and how this relationship changes as we age.
