Participants from the 2026 SDMS Emerging Leaders Program cohort and alumni from past cohorts gathered with SDMS Board members and ARRT representatives Liana Watson and Beth Weber for the Emerging Leaders lunch at the 2026 SDMS Annual Conference.

We love a program collab 👏🏼👏🏼

Surgical Technology hosted Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) students today for inter-professional collaboration. The Surgical Tech students taught DMS sterile techniques. DMS and Surgical Tech students worked together practicing sterile ultrasound probe covering.

Today marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for our newest group of Diagnostic Medical Sonography students!

We are so excited to welcome these future sonographers to the LSUE DMS family and can't wait to watch them learn, grow, and develop the skills that will shape their careers. The journey starts today—and we know it’s going to be an incredible one!

🌟 Student Spotlight: Piper Davis 🌟

The LSUE Student Sonography Society is proud to spotlight Piper Davis, a dedicated student in the Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program!

Piper’s interest in healthcare grew from her experience working in medical research, where she was exposed to a variety of roles within the medical field. That experience ultimately inspired her to pursue a career in diagnostic medical sonography. She was drawn to the profession because of its combination of patient interaction, problem-solving, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient care.

Her favorite area of ultrasound is general sonography because of the variety of exams it offers and the opportunity to work with patients throughout many different stages of care. Piper enjoys the continuous learning that comes with the profession and appreciates the important role sonographers play in helping physicians diagnose and monitor medical conditions.

As an active member of the LSUE Student Sonography Society, Piper is excited to continue expanding her knowledge and developing the skills needed for a successful career as a professional sonographer.

We are proud to celebrate Piper and look forward to seeing all she accomplishes in the future! 💜💛🐅

🎉 A Perfect 7 for 7! 🎉

We are incredibly proud to announce that all seven of our Diagnostic Medical Sonography students passed the ARDMS OB/GYN registry on their first attempt!

This remarkable achievement is a testament to their dedication, perseverance, and countless hours of studying, scanning, and striving for excellence. Their hard work has truly paid off, and we couldn’t be more excited to celebrate this milestone with them.

Congratulations to each of our students on this outstanding accomplishment! Your LSUE family is so proud of you and can’t wait to see the compassionate, knowledgeable sonographers you continue to become.
