We, at UAS, Northwestern, hope that it has been a good quarter for everyone so far and that you all have been coping and managing as best you can.

As anthropologists-in-training, we strive to be relevant and understanding as the world continues to change in various ways. Our first meeting of the year, on Tuesday, November 28, 2016 is for this very purpose.

Please join us for our Fall Undergraduate Anthropology Society Meeting, Anthropology: Contextualizing World Events. We will have an open discussion and general meeting of UAS. Pizza will be served. Please refer to the flyer below.

Are you interested in Chicago's rich history, and what archaeology can tell us about it? Or maybe you are interested in archaeology, but don't have the time or money to get field experience abroad.

Check out this opportunity through Lake Forest College!

Urban archaeologist and Assistant Professor of Sociology and Anthropology Rebecca Graff will lead the archaeological digs, the first of which will take place July 6–31, 2015 at the Charnley-Persky House in Chicago, in partnership with the Society of Architectural Historians.

More details on project here:

Details on cost and need based grants here:

Please contact Dr. Graff ([email protected]) for more details.

This initiative will help people to understand the history right under their feet, informing the daily lives of Chicagoans past, present, and future. -Professor Rebecca Graff
