The Department of Political Science is very grateful to the government professionals who asked probing questions during our students' presentation session. This was a final project for Professor Bill Healey's State and Local Government in NJ class.

The panel members were:
* Michele Siekerka, President of the NJ Business & Industry Assn. and former NJDEP Deputy Commissioner in the Christie Administration
* Melanie Walter, Executive Director of the NJ Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency in NJDCA
* Henry Gajda, Chief of Staff in NJDEP
* David Reiner, AVP for Government Relation at Princeton University and former counsel to Governor Christie.

Students in Professor Bill Healey's State and Local Government in NJ course presented their final course projects on how they would improve a function, level of government or policy. Topics included a full time legislature, rethinking NJ Civil Service, and public health issues in Middlesex County.

The Department of Political Science and the TCNJ Master in Public Policy Program were thrilled to join with the School of Engineering in hosting TCNJ alumni Rob Hickman, '11.

Rob is the Chief Administrative Officer of the Gateway Development Commission. GDC is charged with building the nation's most important rail infrastructure project over the next decade and a half. He spoke on the both the policy and construction challenges of building the Gateway Project.

He was invited by Professor Bill Healey.
