We’re still here—and still doing the work together. ☀️

Our work to understand and reduce the impacts of environmental stressors on health and wellness starts with community—listening, learning, sharing knowledge, and building relationships.

Last week, our team spent time in Tanana, visiting with community members, sharing stories, laughing together, and learning from one another. These conversations and connections are an important part of the work we do.

Thank you, Tanana, for welcoming us, sharing your time and knowledge, and making our visit such a meaningful one.

The Alaska Alliance for Community Engagement - Partnership for Action Toward Health (AK ACE-PATH) is a partnership between UAF Center for Alaska Native Health Research and UAF College of Natural Science and Mathematics. It is one of three regional teams funded by NIH looking at environmental stressors. Phase 1 work of the three regional teams was highlighted in the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) Newsletter.

NIH-funded centers develop plans with communities in Alaska, California, and Colorado to address local environmental health concerns.
