Happy National Public Safety Dispatcher week to our fantastic dispatchers. They are often known as the unforgetting, but are the first line of responders. Without them emergencies wouldn’t be answered and sent out to the proper services. Although this week is dedicated to them, we always appreciate our dedicated dispatchers! So, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all of your hard work and dedication to the university community and our officers!

With the new year ringing in, we decided to start a new weekly segment “Officer Spotlight”! Each week we will post a different officer and give some background about them.

First up, we have Officer Michael Neuendorf, known to most on campus as Officer Mike. Mike has been with the department for 3 years. He comes to us with a vast array of emergency service background which includes working as 911 dispatcher for 5 years, volunteering with his local volunteer fire department and medical service for 13 years, along with emergency management. Prior to working for the university he worked for Walt Disney World in Florida. Mike is most known around the campus community for his involvement in numerous clubs, campus events, resident hall meetings and mentoring. He is currently a field training officer (FTO) and the community relations officer for the department. If you see Officer Mike around campus make sure to stop and say hi!

Stay tuned for next Friday when we release the latest Officer Spotlight!
