The organizational meeting for the new Frontier Community College Foundation was in March 1978. Richard Mason, President of FCC, Preston Mathews, Don Gillison and Joe Fleming, all community leaders, meet with Joe Piland, president of Lincoln Trail College to discuss the development of a foundation at the new college. Soon the foundation was formed. Frontier Community College Foundation was to a wholly non-profit corporation and organized under the laws of the state of Illinois. Its mission was then, and is today, wholly educational.
