Hmong Student Association was created in 1995 and is part of the Hedgeman Center for Student Initiatives and Diversity and Inclusion. HSA is an organization that exposes members of the Hamline community and outside the community to contents such as Hmong history, culture, and traditions. HSA was established to provide a strong academic and soc

ial support system for members on campus through meetings and social activities. To improve the Hamline community and the broader Hmong community by serving as a resource.

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the postponement of our 30th Anniversary Celebration. Due to some outside circumstances, our event has been delayed to the Fall of 2026 with a to be determined date. We sincerely apologize for any inconveniences, and we are still working hard to deliver an exciting reunion. Thank you for everyone’s commitment and interest to this event, and we will announce a date at our earliest convenience!

Hey everyone, please come join us for Culture Shock! This event is a celebration of all our cultural orgs on campus where we’ll be serving cultural foods and holding fun activities. We’ll be tabling with the Asian Pacific American Coalition (APAC), so come visit us if you can! This will be happening at the Anderson Forum from 4:00pm - 6:00pm on March 31st. We’re so excited to present this night to you all, and we hope to see you there!

It will be a time to reflect on our history, celebrate our achievements, and reconnect with one another.

Kicking off Hmong Month, HSA and HUAMC are collaborating to make Studio Ghibli Night, a movie night where you can hang out and watch the great works of Hayao Miyazaki. For this event, we will be watching The Secret World Of Arrietty and Castle In The Sky at The HUB from 6:30pm - 9:00pm. Free food, snacks, and drinks will be provided, so don’t miss it!

Hello everyone. My name is Tshuaj Yangwaue, I go by He/Him. I’m a 4th year majoring in Biology and I’m the Internal Public Relations for HSA.

I plan to further my education after graduation. My favorite composers are Ryo and Hiroyuki Sawano. My hobbies consist of video games, model kits, and watching anime.

My name is Yajyuam Yang (She/Her/Hers). I am HSA Secretary for this year 2024-25! This is my third year here at Hamline. I'm majoring in Finance!

I love to read and have many genres of books I own myself! Listening to music helps me stay distracted and perfect for background music. I also enjoy watching anime, Cdrama, Kdrama, Thai lakorn, and so forth! Don't be shy to give me a big HI when you see me around!

Hey everyone! My name is Cithus Her (He/Him/His) and I am HSA’s Co-President for this 24-25 school year! I am a Junior here at Hamline and majoring in Music Production.

Music is one of my biggest passions, as I play guitar and have a growing collection of nearly 500 CD’s. I listen to a very wide spectrum of genres, so feel free to talk to me about music or give me any recommendations :).

I’m looking forward to seeing all of you and meeting some new faces! We have great things planned for this year, so we’re excited to show everyone what we have.

Hi everyone! Our first event for the spring semester will be our Spring Social happening on Friday, March 22nd from 4:00pm - 7:00pm at the HSA House (1475 W Minnehaha Ave). We invite you to come join us for an afternoon barbecue filled with fun activities where players can win prizes. Everyone is welcome, so feel free to invite your friends, but just remember to fill out the RSVP link. We’re excited to show you what we have in store for this semester, and hope to see you at our first spring event!
