Bristol's Dental Hygiene students attended Dental Hygiene Lobby Day at the Massachusetts State House last week.

The students heard from senators and representatives and were able to meet with legislative aides to voice support for current bills affecting the scope of dental hygiene practice and access to dental care in Massachusetts.

Students attended a Massachusetts Dental Hygiene Association meeting in the morning, where they learned about advocacy work and about the legislative process. Students and faculty were also able to tour the Senate and House chambers.

This important event instills in students a greater understanding of laws governing the Dental profession, and underscores how activism can shape the future of the profession.

Join us on Monday to support students in the Dental Hygiene program and leave with a sparkling clean car!

Students will offer a Car Wash Fundraiser on Monday, April 6 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Bristol Community College, 777 Elsbree St., Fall River, outside J Building -- parking lots 6, 7, and 8.

A second Car Wash will be held Tuesday, April 21 from Noon to 3 p.m.

The cost is $5 per car.

Funds raised will help support student trips and educational resources.

Dental Hygiene students 🦷attended the Yankee Dental Congress, Connecting for Oral Health, over the weekend at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center.

They heard from speakers in their profession, participated in continuing education courses, connected with peers and dental industry professionals, and visited with demonstrators and exhibitors.

The visit was part of the program's goal to prepare students for a rewarding career in Dental Hygiene and set them on a path of lifelong learning in their profession.

Slaying the academic semester deserves celebratory cake, but making friends along the way is the buttercream icing of life! 🎉🧁

While working together in a clinical setting, these first-year nursing students formed a strong bond and became friends as they learned about patient care and nursing protocol.

They organized a turkey dinner and Secret Santa recently to celebrate their first semester's achievements ahead of the holidays and look ahead to spring classes.

We wish them a very Happy Holiday season and raise our coffee cups to their academic success and friendship in 2026! ☕🎉

It's time to celebrate a win for BristolCC and prospective Nursing students! 🎉🙌

The Massachusetts Board of Nursing has unanimously approved Bristol's new Evening/Weekend Nursing cohort, making it an official addition to the Nursing program.

The new hybrid evening/ weekend cohort will be an addition to BristolCC's traditional day and hybrid nursing programs. It will allow students another option to earn an Associate of Science in Nursing degree.

The inaugural cohort will begin Spring 2026 with 16 students, growing to the program's full 24 students in the Spring of 2027. This program will help support working students by ensuring they have dedicated assessment, laboratory and clinical times in the evening and weekend hours while maintaining didactic work in an asynchronous learning environment.

B.M.C. Durfee High School Early College students enjoyed a tour of the Health Sciences' labs at Bristol Community College.

They learned about mold, microscopes, and medicine, but mostly they heard about career opportunities available to them at BristolCC including Nursing, Dental Hygiene, and Medical Lab Technology.

The Early College program allows high school students to take both high school and college classes simultaneously, giving them a jump-start in their chosen careers.

The holidays are all about celebrating tradition. And, one annual tradition of Medical Lab Technology faculty, staff and students is to give back to the community.

The group collected and wrapped presents for kids receiving services through the Old Colony YMCA of New Bedford. We salute their giving spirit, and judging from their smiling faces, they enjoyed the tradition!

Bristol's Dental Hygiene students presented their research projects at the Annual Dental Hygiene Alumni Association Poster Sessions on Wednesday night.

The students had a chance to show off their work and chat with faculty, students, and dental hygiene alumni who work in the community.

The Alumni Association provides the opportunity to celebrate the achievements of second-year dental hygiene students, and to network with fellow oral health professionals.

"Dental hygiene faculty and staff are proud of the work our students put in, and the professionalism they displayed while presenting their research," said Sarah Wilhelmsen, Dental Hygiene Associate Professor and Chairperson.
