For those of you with questions regarding the 19950 Farmington community::

Town of Greenwood, Delaware
The current income data for State and
Federal grants comes from the most
recent census, where they lumped in all
income for the 19950 zip code. Based
on this information, the Town does not
qualify for "Principal forgiveness loans"
only low interest rates. It would behoove
the Town to check to see if the average
household income for the actual Town
limits is lower than that of the entire
19950 zip code in order to qualify for
principal forgiveness loans, meaning
necessary projects can be completed at
no cost to the Town and it's residents

In the next few weeks - each resident of the 🏘️ Town of Greenwood will receive a 📩 letter from Southeast Rural Community Assistance Project, Inc. (SERCAP) asking that they provide household income.

All information will be held and complied in strict confidence and will be utilized in the application process for grant funding for the Town for necessary capital projects. The household income that is currently used includes people who do not reside only within the Town limits, but in the entire 19950 zip code.

The goal is to determine the average household income of those only within town limits, therefore only Town residents will receive the letter.

The Town appreciates your cooperation in this matter.

DelDOT crews will be brining roads statewide today ahead of this weekend's storm. Please drive attentively and give our crews plenty of space to work for their safety and yours!

Why brine roads?
Brine has the same melting characteristics of solid rock salt, but since it is applied in liquid form, it is more effective at sticking the salt to the roadway. Pure water has a freezing temperature of 32°F; as salts dissolve in water, the freezing temperature decreases, which requires colder temperatures for ice to form. Sodium chloride will help prevent ice formation down to 15°F. It's also cost effective as it takes four times less salt to brine one mile of road compared to rock salt.

Please drive carefully and be alert as we work to treat roads today!
