We are excited to introduce Miranda Free, the newest member of our Summer 2027 cohort!

A proud Independence, MO native and Truman High School graduate, Miranda recently earned her bachelors degree in Exercise Science from Oklahoma State University.

Miranda’s journey toward athletic training is rooted in her lifelong passion for movement. She spent much of her life as a dancer, where she developed the discipline, precision, perseverance, and grit that come with high-level performance. After experiencing injury herself, Miranda gained a new perspective on movement, rehabilitation, and the importance of quality support throughout an athlete’s recovery. Those experiences sparked her interest in athletic training and her desire to help athletes return to performance safely while focusing on injury prevention, rehabilitation, and sport-specific care.

We are thrilled to have Miranda bring her perspective and passion to the CMU MSAT program. We can't wait to see all that she accomplishes!

CMU MSAT is back at it!

We kicked off preseason last Wednesday evening with some fun at Midway Golf and Games, followed by a program policy and emergency procedures review and the first round of CMU Athletics physicals with our partners at Missouri Orthopaedic Institute to get everyone ready for the season ahead.

Our MSAT faculty and students, CMU Athletic Training Staff, EMS personnel, Medical Director, Kevin Frazer MD and local athletic trainer Rick Sage came together for hands-on simulations and discussion covering:
🏈 Spine care & emergency management
☀️ Heat-related illnesses
🧠 Concussion management
⛈️ Inclement weather procedures

The season is here—and our MSAT students are ready to learn, grow, and put their clinical skills into practice while providing quality, patient-centered care to the athletes they serve!
It was a great week of teamwork, learning, and preparation.
