Samadhi Pusuba Devayalage, who is a Fulbright Scholar from Sri Lanka was recently was recently recognized by the University of Arkansas Communication Sciences and Disorders Program for demonstrating "Emerging Excellence" as a first-year graduate student and future speech-language pathologist. We are so proud!

Samadhi Pusuba Devayalage, Kendra Ledbetter and Madeline Rudolph were recognized for excellence graduate program in communication sciences and disorders.

International Education Week at the University of Arkansas kicks off today with our virtual opening ceremony at 11AM!

While many things have moved digital this year, we are as excited as ever to celebrate our international students and scholars and to highlight the exciting opportunities provided by studying in in parts of the world different from your own.

In spite of social distancing, SSSP was able to welcome our new and returning sponsored students this past month. It's was pretty amazing to see everyone and we look forward to seeing all of you in person eventually!

More than 200 sponsored students are enrolled as part of the 1,211 international students attending the U of A.

Dr. Ahmed Dhamad, who is a former sponsored student from Iraq, was recently published in the journal of the American Society for Microbiology for his research in controlling genes in methanogens. We are so proud!

The finding will make research into areas such as climate change and biofuels cheaper, faster and more efficient.

Come to the Holcombe Hall Living Room tonight at 8PM to hear Fraz Tahir, a sponsored student from Pakistan, discuss his home country's history and culture. Definitely not to be missed!

The presentation starts at 8 p.m. today in Holcombe Hall's living room and features a short presentation followed by a sampling of a traditional Pakistani dish, chicken karachi.
