FTCC is excited to be a part of sharing this important story from Fayetteville's local history and its impact on our country's foundation.

We hope you'll join us Sept. 8 at noon in FTCC's Tony Rand Student Center for the Fall 2026 Lafayette Lecture on the Liberty Point Resolves.

Before American independence was declared, local residents were already taking a stand. In 1775, the Liberty Point Resolves expressed their determination to defend their rights against abuses by the British governmentโ€”and now, the Lafayette Society is helping bring that important piece of Fayetteville history back into the spotlight.

๐Ÿ“œ The Fall 2026 Lafayette Lecture will explore the Liberty Point Resolves and the community project preserving their story through research, a book, documentary film and educational resources.

As America commemorates its 250th anniversary, discover how Fayetteville residents played a role in the story of the Revolutionโ€”and how local historians are making sure their voices aren't forgotten:

๐Ÿฉท๐Ÿฆ‹๐Ÿ“š We may have lost an icon, but Dolly Parton's legacy of supporting literacy endures.

In celebration of Dolly Partonโ€™s life, her support of libraries, and her contributions to promoting reading and literacy, the FTCC Paul H. Thompson Library will host a life-size cutout of Dolly for anyone who would like to stop by and take a selfie.

Stop by, snap a selfie, and learn how you can support literacy in Cumberland County!

FTCC has long partnered with the United Way of Cumberland County, which administers Dolly Partonโ€™s Imagination Library, providing children from birth to age five with a free book in the mail each month. The United Way of Cumberland County currently distributes approximately 11,000 books each month to our youngest residents.

FTCC is also a founding member of the Cumberland County Literacy Council , a collaborative initiative that brings together public and private organizations to improve literacy and create lasting, generational change in our community.

๐Ÿฉท The Dolly Selfie Station will be in the Library through Sept. 18.
Library Hours:
Mondayโ€“Thursday: 7 a.m.โ€“7 p.m.
Friday: 7 a.m.โ€“5 p.m.
The Library will be closed on Monday, Sept. 7, in observance of Labor Day.
Free parking is available behind the Library.

We hope you will stop by to celebrate reading, literacy, libraries โ€” and Dolly! ๐Ÿฉท

Congratulations to the newest graduates of our Heroes Make America Logistics & Distribution Management and Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) training programs at Fort Bragg, delivered in partnership with Fayetteville Technical Community College!

Over the past seven weeks, these members of the military community have built on the skills and experience gained through military service while preparing for their next chapter in manufacturing, aviation, logistics, and beyond.

Graduation marks the end of the classroom portion of their HMA journey, but itโ€™s just the beginning of where their skills can take them.

Weโ€™re proud to celebrate this milestone and look forward to seeing what these graduates accomplish next!
